Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy
Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy is one of the most popular BCAA supplements on the market. The supplement has multiple purposes when compared to other amino drinks. As ON amino energy is sugar-free and contains a green tea matrix, it can be consumed in the morning, pre workout, intra workout or even post workout.
What’s in Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy Drink?
EACH SERVING OF AMINO ENERGY CONTAINS 17 SEPARATE INGREDIENTS PER TWO SCOOPS. THE PRIMARY COMPONENT OF AMINO ENERGY IS THE AMINO BLEND WHICH COMPRISES 5 GRAMS PER SERVING (SERVING SIZE IS TWO SCOOPS). IN THIS 5 GRAM COMPONENT, THERE ARE 14 SEPARATE INGREDIENTS. THIS GOES BEYOND THE STANDARD BCAA TO INCLUDE EVEN NON-ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS AND BETA-ALANINE.
When to Take Amino Energy?
Amino Energy is best taken first thing in the morning, pre-workout, intra workout, or post workout. According to Optimum Nutrition, here are the best serving recommendations;
Pre-workout: 1 to 3 servings (2 to 6 scoops)
Morning: 1 to 2 servings (2 to 4 scoops)
Post workout: 1 to 2 servings (2 to 4 scoops)
*Although Amino Energy can be taken as a pre-workout before the gym, larger dosages may be required when compared to other pre-workout supplements. For a more intense burst of energy before the gym, the Gold Standard Optimum Nutrition Pre Workout might be a more suited pre-workout supplement for the more advanced gym goer.
Discount Supplements Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy Review
If you are looking for a product that can tick all boxes all in one, the Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy does that. It is also one of the most versatile BCAA drinks on the market. The drink can be consumed any time of day. With it’s array of ingredients, it could even save you money on having to buy it’s ingredients separately.
The Amino Energy Kick
One of the aspects of Optimum Nutrition's Amino Energy that we love here at Discount Supplements is the added kick you get when compared to other amino drinks.That kick is due to their Energy Blend which contains three components that is roughly about 100 mg of caffeine per 2 scoop serving.
Another great thing about this product is that the caffeine is derived from green tea (EGCG standardised green tea extract, and green coffee bean extract). A very simple but effective energy complex that won’t leave you feeling crashed after your workout.
Final Thoughts;
As a whole, Optimum Amino Energy can fit into anyone’s workout routine. It is a multi-purpose supplement which can be taken at any time of day. The price of Amino Energy is well positioned to other BCAA drinks on the market with the added amino energy kick that you can get.If the kick that you get from using ON amino energy, then this product is 100% for you. However, if you are looking for a more concentrated BCAA drink or supplement, we have a whole supplement section dedicated to BCAA’s that you may be interested in. From a pre-workout standpoint, again, if you find that you do not need any additional kick from the supplement, then this is perfect for you. But if you feel you need that extra level of caffeine concentration in your pre-workout, you might want to check out our more hardcore pre-workout supplements.
